Local vs. Cloud Boards

Understand the differences between local and cloud boards in Infa.ai and when to use each.

When you create a board within the Chrome extension, you always start with a local board that you can use for free. This article explains the differences between local and cloud boards, and what cloud features a paid subscription enables.

Stored on your device for offline access and free
Cloud Boards

Local Boards

Local boards are free and stored on your device. They provide basic functionality but are limited:

  • Chrome extension only: Local boards can only be created within the Chrome extension. In the web app, boards always start as cloud boards
  • Free: No subscription required
  • Device-only: Accessible only on the device where created
  • No collaboration: Cannot share with team members
  • No AI features: Advanced AI capabilities not available
  • No integrations: Cannot connect with design tools or repositories
  • No sync: Changes don't sync across devices

Cloud Boards

Cloud boards unlock all features and require a paid subscription. Boards created in the web app are always cloud boards:

  • AI features: Access to advanced AI capabilities
  • Integrations: Connect with Figma, Coda, and other design tools
  • Team collaboration: Real-time sharing and collaboration
  • Cross-device access: Work from any device
  • Screenshot capturing: Capture and annotate screenshots
  • Documentation: Create and manage documentation
  • Comments: Add comments and collaborate on feedback
